
Gibson's Finest CFL Players of the Week Named

Toronto, ON - (July 27, 2010) - Romby Bryant, John Bowman, Jovon Johnson and Jon Cornish were named the Gibson's Finest CFL Players of the Week for week four, the Canadian Football League announced today.
The four players were chosen by a panel of judges that includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde, now of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

WR - Romby Bryant - Calgary Stampeders
Saskatchewan Roughriders 20 @ Calgary Stampeders 40
Highlights / Key Stats:
Calgary wide receiver Romby Bryant scored both of his two touchdowns in the second half, tallying seven receptions for 116 yards in the Stamps 40-20 triumph over the Riders. Bryant found the endzone by way of receiving touchdown for the third consecutive game, hauling in passes from 67 and 10 yards out to earn Gibson's Finest CFL Offensive Player of the Week.

Highlights / Key Stats:
John Bowman imposed his will on the Ticats offence and made sure that the Alouettes opened refurbished McGill Stadium in style with a 37-14 win. The Montreal defensive end filled up the stat sheet, recording four sacks and forcing Hamilton quarterback Kevin Glenn into two fumbles, one resulting in a turnover.
Bowman set a new career-high with his outstanding four-sack performance, easily surpassing his previous personal best of two in a single game.

KR - Jovon Johnson - Winnipeg Blue Bombers
Edmonton Eskimos 21 @ Winnipeg Blue Bombers 47
Highlights / Key Stats:
Jovon Johnson put the exclamation point on the Blue Bombers resounding 47-21 victory over the Eskimos, scoring late in the fourth quarter on a spectacular 83-yard punt return touchdown. Winnipeg's explosive playmaker returned four punts for 100 yards and one touchdown, as well as, one missed field goal for 36 yards in the winning effort.

RB - Jon Cornish - Calgary Stampeders
Saskatchewan Roughriders 20 @ Calgary Stampeders 40
Highlights / Key Stats: Running back Jon Cornish provided a much needed boost down the stretch as the Stamps protected home field and defeated the Riders 40-20 at McMahon Stadium this week. The New Westminster, BC native was a key contributor to the Calgary offence, racking up 77 yards on five rushing attempts, including a 50-yard dash down the sideline in the fourth quarter to open up the game.
Cornish also had one reception for 20 yards and is currently in his fourth CFL season, all as a member of the Stampeders.
