Vancouver Giants News Release

The Vancouver Giants have entered the Western Hockey League's Christmas break on a six-game winning streak.

Last Friday, the Giants posted a 5-1 win on the road against the Chilliwack Bruins. Evander Kane was the game's first star scoring two goals and adding one assist. The night also marked the first time all season the Giants had scored four goals in the opening period.

On Saturday at the Giants annual Teddy Bear Toss Night, goalie Tyson Sexsmith recorded his WHL-leading 6th shut-out of the year in a 2-0 win over the Bruins. Sexsmith is now tied for 7th on the WHL's all-time shut-out leaders with 17 in his career. Rookie forward James Henry's 1st goal in the WHL was the Teddy Bear Toss goal in front of a crowd of 10,744.

The Giants are now 24-7-1-3 on the season, good enough for 52 points. They will return to the Pacific Coliseum Thursday December 27 to play host to the Kamloops Blazers (7:00pm PST).

On behalf of everyone in the Giants organization, have a wonderful holiday break and we look forward to your on-going support of Giants hockey as we head towards 2008!
