
Giants' Holt Named WHL On the Run Player of the Week

Calgary, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced today that Vancouver Giants forward Dawson Holt has been named the WHL On the Run Player of the Week for the week ending April 21, 2019.
Holt recorded four points (2G-2A) and carried a plus-three rating as the Giants won the first two games of their Western Conference Championship matchup against the Spokane Chiefs.
On Friday, Holt aided his team in a 4-1 win with two points (1G-1A). Scoring Vancouver's second goal and assisting on their third goal, both at even strength, Holt recorded his third multi-point night in the 2019 WHL Playoffs.
The next night, Holt repeated his performance, scoring one goal and collecting one assist in Vancouver's 4-2 win over Spokane. Holt's goal was the first of the night for the Giants, sparking a tremendous four-goal comeback in the third period. For his efforts, Holt was awarded the second star of the game and the third star of the night in the WHL.
The 5-foot-11, 195-pound centreman has 11 points (4G-7A) in the 2019 WHL Playoffs. In 19 career WHL Playoff games, Holt has 19 points (6G-13A). During the regular season, Holt collected 19 points (6G-13A) in 53 games, including one power-play goal and one game-winning goal.
The Saskatoon, Sask. product was selected by the Giants eighth overall in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft. In 200 career WHL regular season games, Holt has 76 points (25G-51A), including two power-play goals, two short-handed goals and three game-winning goals.
Leading the series 2-0, Holt and the Giants will head to the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena to take on the Chiefs for Games 3 and 4 of the Western Conference Championship on Tuesday, April 23 (7:05 p.m. PT) and Wednesday, April 24 (7:05 p.m. PT).
