ALBUQUERQUE â It's getting a little cooler, training camp is only two weeks, players are starting to arrive, and the New Mexico Scorpions of the Central Hockey League are getting ready for the 2004-05 season. This Saturday, Oct. 2, the Scorpions will be hosting tryouts for a new Dance Team at Dance Dimensions, 4901 Paseo del Norte NE, Suite B from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Interested participants should contact dance team coach Christy Kearney at (505) 821-6164.
"We're excited to be working with Christy Kearney and her staff at Dance Dimensions," said Scorpions Senior Vice President/General Manager Geoff Kent. "As an organization we are always looking to add to our entertainment product, and we believe this is just another way to add to an already stellar show."
From the beginning, the goal of Dance Dimensions has been to help revitalize competitive dance in Albuquerque. With the chance to be a part of the Scorpions Dance Team, we can now use dance to help add excitement to our local sports. We are thrilled with this opportunity and look forward to the upcoming season of Scorpions Hockey!"
Season tickets for the 2004-2005 CHL season start as low as $320 and are on sale NOW. Season tickets also include a free entry into the Scorps Rewards prize pool. The Scorpions open their ninth season of pro hockey at Tingley Coliseum on Oct. 29 when they host the Corpus Christi Rayz at 7:05 p.m. Single-game tickets are expected to go on sale in early October.
