Georgia Gwizzlies Appoint New Director Of Basketball Operations

Macon, GA. The ABA Georgia Gwizzlies announced the appointment of James Smith as Director of Basketball Operations and Assistant Coach for the upcoming season. Smith's credentials are numerous, including being the former assistant coach of the Macon Blaze that played in 2005.

Presently, he is the Director of the Rosa Jackson Recreation Center in Macon and a long time resident of the city. The Gwizzlies training camp and practices will be held at the Jackson Recreation Center. In addition, Matthews of Macon's Memorial Park Recreation Center has joined the organization as a basketball consultant. Bryant Thurmond of Macon's Bloomfield Park Recreation Center will also assist the team.

All Macon/Bibb County youth under the age of 12 that attend recreational centers will receive discounted Gwizzlies tickets for the home opener in November. Season tickets go on sale next month. Game tickets are $5 for youth/students; $10 General Admission; $20.00 Courtside. Georgia Gwizzlies official ABA t-shirts are $20; caps $10.
