GBL Baseball is here
Published on June 8, 2005 under Golden Baseball League (GBL) News Release
The Golden Baseball League's inaugural season is off and running! We hope you were among the 40,000 fans who joined us for our Opening Weekend extravaganzas in Chico, San Diego, Yuma, Surprise, and Mesa.
If graduations and travel plans prevented you from joining us, here is a small sample of what you missed: the arrival of the Japan Samurai Bears, Yuma Scorpions' Field Manager Benny Castillo skydiving into Desert Sun Stadium, an F-16 flyby in Surprise, and Pat Sajak landing on the pitcher's mound via helicopter in Mesa.
The weekend provided a preview of the wacky entertainment experience that fans will enjoy all summer long. Join us at your nearest GBL ballpark for mascots galore, fireworks, bobbleheads, burro rides, and much, much more.
Join us next week at our Home Openers in Long Beach and Fullerton. We have many more surprises planned!
