Gary Wins Over the Lansing Capitals 124 to 112

April 17, 2011 - International Basketball League (IBL)
Lansing Capitals News Release

The Lansing Capitals new ownership is determined to be competitive and that- they were- with a game that see sawed back and forth until the end of the fourth quarter. In the end, Lansing's poor free throw shooting cost them dearly as the Gary Splash outlasted the visitors from Lansing Michigan 124 to 112. The Lansing Capitals are one of five branding teams playing within the IBL schedule (a branding team plays between 3 and 8 games in an effort to build or maintain a brand- the exciting thing for the Capitals is that these games count as official IBL games so any time you can take a regular IBL team down to the wire, it is good news the development of the team). Capitals Head coach Dale Beard, assistant coach Mark Hartung and new Lansing Capitals owner Reynardo Jefferson look to rebound next weekend as they face the USA All Stars. For Gary Splash head coach Jay Bradford, this is game 1 of 20 with a primary focus on the toughest part of their season-which comes up early- a three game series in Albany that takes place in just 11 days.
