Minot Minotauros News Release
by Ken Oda
Bismarck, ND - After a rare Friday off the Minotauros head to the state capital to take on the Bismarck Bobcats Saturday night. The night off did not cost the Tauros in the standings as both the first place Austin Bruins and second place North Iowa lost on Friday night so the top three teams in the division remain separated by just two points. The Cats, who also had last night off, come in off of a sweep of the St. Cloud Norsemen last weekend.
The Tauros have taken two of the first three meetings with the Bobcats, the lone loss coming in the Bobcats home opener back on October 1st. Since that 7-3 loss in the V.F.W. Sportscenter the Tauros have won both contest on the Pepsi Rink at Maysa Arena including a dominating 5-1 victory the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
Huston Karpman leads all scorers in the series with six points including four goals. Zack Simon, David Nesburg, and Trevor Stachowiak, each have four points in through three head-to-heads with Bismarck. The Cats meanwhile are led by Owen Michaels who has a goal and three helpers for four points.
The game against the Cats kicks off a December slate that sees the Tauros head to Aberdeen next weekend before returning home December 17th and 18th to host the Austin Bruins. That Saturday game against the Bruins is the Minotauros annual Teddy Bear Toss Game, in addition to fans attending the game bringing stuff animals to throw to the ice to donate to Tauros partner charities this year the Tauros are offering a virtual option for fans to support the causes.
Tonight's game start at 7:15 which means the Farmer's Union Pregame Show will start at 7:00 on HockeyTV, Facebook Live, and the Tauros Hockey App.
