Game Preview: Soul Look to Dominate Gladiators

PHILADELPHIA (April 18, 2015) - The Philadelphia Soul look to keep the winning streak alive this week. The Soul (3-0) will host the Cleveland Gladiators in Week 4 on the Rothman Field at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday, April 18 at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.

The last time the Soul faced Cleveland was Week 14 of the 2014 season. The Soul were defeated by one point, 68-69, making the series record 3-5. This past week the Soul came out victorious against the Sharks, with Ryan McDaniel once again leading the offense with 11 completed catches for 133 yards and five touchdowns. The highlight of the game was Shaun Kauleinamoku's 34-yard pass touchdown, taking the Soul in the lead 21-14. Dan completed the night with 21-of-30 passes for 261 yards, eight touchdowns and one interception. Marco Thomas ended the night with seven catches for 73 yards and two touchdowns. Tommy Taggart had a good night with 10 rushes for 19 gaining yards and one touchdown. As for defense, LaRico Stevenson and Dwayne Hollis lead the defense with seven total tackles each. With a strong presence both offensively and defensively, the Soul are prepared to take on the Gladiators.

The first match-up to look for in the game is Soul DB Kent Richardson up against Cleveland WR Dominick Goodman. This season, Richardson has a total of 6.5 tackles. Goodman has completed 26 catches for 259 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The next match-up to look for is Soul C Shannon Breen up against Cleveland DL Mike Alston. This season, Breen has started in all games and is a strong component of the offensive line. Alston has a total of 7.5 tackles and 1.5 sacks this season.

The third match-up to definitely keep an eye out for is Soul WR Ryan McDaniel up against Cleveland DB Joe Phinisee. So far this season McDaniel has completed 29 catches for 376 yards and ten touchdowns. Phinisee has a total of 8.5 tackles and two interceptions this season.

The final player the Soul offensive line needs to keep an eye out for is Cleveland DB Dominic Jones. Already this season, Jones has a total of 23.5 tackles and eight break ups. Last season Jones was in the top three defensive linemen with a total of 93.5 tackles, four interceptions, and 27 break ups.

The Soul will face off against the VooDoo in Week 5 on Saturday, April 25 at 8 p.m. ET at the Smoothie King Center.
