Game Preview - Wilmington Meets Charlotte For The Third Time

Charlotte, NC - Charlotte Independence will host the Port City team on Saturday, August 13th at Rablewood Stadium with a kick-off time of 7pm.

Charlotte and Wilmington prepare for their third faceoff this season. Wilmington is still fighting for a playoff seed, currently standing in tenth; while Charlotte sits in seventh place.

Wilmington hosted Charlotte on May 10th which ended in a 1-1 tie. Charlotte then hosted Wilmington for their second match on July 9th losing 2-1 to the Port City team. Although Charlotte is higher in the standings, each time these teams have met on the field they have been close games.

Coach Briggs concluded, "We have nine games, including this weekend's, remaining in the season. That means we have nine more opportunities to secure a playoff seed." He continued, "We will train hard, and fight harder to get there."

Join Wilmington on Saturday, August 20th for PINK NIGHT against Charleston Battery. Kick-off is at 7pm at Legion Stadium.
