Carson, CA (Thursday, November 18, 2004) - The Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation will partner with The Home Depot Center Charitable Foundation and several of their corporate partners to serve a "Thanksgiving Dinner" the week of the holiday to more than 200 children from organizations that service abused women and children as well as children living in group homes or with foster families from throughout Southern California.
The second annual "Foundations' Feast" will take place on Monday, November 22 at 4:30 pm at The Home Depot Center Stadium Club (doors open and seating will begin at 4:00). Several L.A. Galaxy players, including Peter Vagenas, Chris Aloisi, and Scot Thompson among others will be on hand to help serve the meal and sign autographs for the children.
"We are proud to be hosting the second annual Foundations' Feast at The Home Depot Center," said Galaxy President and General Manager Doug Hamilton. "We welcome those in our community who are less fortunate to what promises to be a wonderful holiday event for them. We would also like to thank all our corporate partners who have contributed, demonstrating their commitment to the community." There will be plenty of warm turkey for those in attendance. In addition, Farmer John will be providing Thanksgiving hams as part of their sponsorship of the event. Also, dinner guests will have a number of cold beverages to choose from with another event sponsor, Coca-Cola, providing their line of soft drinks and water.
Levy Restaurants, who operates all concessions at The Home Depot Center, will support the event, cooking all the turkeys and hams as well as preparing several traditional Thanksgiving side dishes, including mashed potatoes and gravy, seasonal vegetables and cranberry sauce.
Unilever Food Solutions will be serving hot soup. In addition, all children will receive a Galaxy goodie bag including products from See's Candies and coupons for McDonald's McFlurries to take with them upon their departure.
