
Galante Lifts Hawks Past Rebels Friday Night

The Johnstown Tomahawks defeated the Philadelphia Rebels 2-1 on home ice Friday night in Johnstown. Goaltender Alec Rajalin-Scharp made 24 saves on 25 shots.
Ryan Panico opened the scoring on Friday night for Johnstown with his second goal of the season 8:42 into the opening frame. Alec Rajalin-Scharp stood tall in net for Johnstown with ten saves in the first period, keeping the Tomahawks ahead.
The second period went scoreless, with only five total shots between the two teams. At the 7:25 mark of the third period, Anthony Galante extended the lead for Johnstown to two with a power play goal. The Rebels made their presences known late in the period with a goal from David Deputy with just over eight minutes remaining in regulation. The Rebels had good chances late in the game with a power play and getting a lot of pucks to the net. Johnstown held on to get the 2-1 win on Friday night, with the game winning goal coming from Galante.
The two teams are back in action at 1ST SUMMIT ARENA tomorrow, October 15 as we hold our annual Breast Cancer Awareness Night Presented by Chan Soon Shiong Medical Center.
