OTTAWA, ON - Ottawa Fury FC today announced the signing of German striker Ugur Albayrak (Ew-ger Al-bye-rack). Born in Frankfurt, Albayrack has spent the majority of his career playing in Germany enjoying plenty of success with Eintracht Frankfurt II. As per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

"Ugur is a dynamic forward that could play in any of the three spots of our forward line," said head coach Marc Dos Santos. "He's a different profile then what we already have and will be another great addition for the club. We know he will need time to settle in, but we trust in the group of guys we have and I'm certain they will help him adapt."

Albayrak, a 5'9 striker, has 162 professional games under his belt scoring 58 goals featuring in nearly 10,000 minutes. In addition to his time at Eintracht Frankfurt, Albayrak has also spent time with FSV Frankfurt, including matches in Bundesliga 2, Darmstadt 98, Kickers Offenbach and most recently Eintracht Trier.

"I'm very happy to join this family," said Albayrack. "It's a great club with great coaches and really feels like a family. I'm excited to be part of this group and help them make the post-season."

With Nicki Paterson's ACL injury keeping him out for the season, Fury FC had an international roster position available to fill.

Having scored 12 goals in their opening 6 games of the NASL Fall Season, Ottawa has climbed the NASL standings sitting atop both the Fall Season and Combined standings. Albayrack gives Dos Santos another option in attack that already includes Tom Heinemann, Paulo Junior, Carl Haworth, Oliver, Andrew Wiedeman and Aly Alberto Hassan with Phil Davies and Brandon Poltronieri also able to play in an attacking role.

Albayrak speaks three languages - English, German and Turkish.

The German striker is available for selection in the squad when Fury FC head to Indianapolis to tackle Indy Eleven on August 8. Ottawa returns home for another three-game home stand to close out August against Minnesota (August 15), New York (August 26) and Tampa Bay (August 29). Tickets to these and all Fall Season matches are available here or by calling 613-232-6767 ext. 1.
