Fury FC on the Hunt for Road Win in Edmonton

Ottawa Fury FC News Release
OTTAWA, ON - It has been a busy two weeks for Ottawa Fury FC as Paul Dalglish continues to improve his squad that now begins a two-game road trip starting Sunday in Edmonton as the club takes aim at their first road win of the season against Canadian rivals FC Edmonton at Clarke Field. While Ottawa might be winless on the road in NASL competition, they did win away from home in the Amway Canadian Championship - a 3-0 win in Edmonton - the last time these two Canadian rival met in Alberta.
Last Sunday, Fury FC saw another strong performance go awry in a 1-0 loss to Rayo OKC despite dominating their opposition in almost every statistical category. Despite the lack of results, head coach Paul Dalglish continues to see positives and improvements.
"In our last two games we didn't get the results we hoped for, but I don't think the results reflected the performances. I think there are plenty of positives to take from our first two games, but there is also a lot of things to work on. We need to improve certain things at training and that's exactly what we've been doing. Now we need to start converting our scoring chances."
After 12 games this season, Fury FC are second in the NASL for total shots with 149, third for total passes with 5267 and second for corners with 65, but too often that statistical domination hasn't reflected on the scoreboard and captain Julian de Guzman - who is leading the team in pass completion percentage (91%) - says that needs to change.
"We brought in new guys in the past few days and we're hoping that with their help we can turn things around and start scoring some goals. The first 15-20 minutes of the game we have to show more concentration and try to set the rhythm. Once we do that we become comfortable and become an offensive threat. "
After adding defender Eddie Edward two weeks ago, last week Fury FC acquired forward Giuseppe Gentile in a trade with Fort Lauderdale for Paulo Junior. Dalglish continued to improve his roster this week acquiring Northern Irish forward Thomas Stewart from USL side Sacramento, signing Gatineau native and Canadian International midfielder Maxim Tissot and transferring midfielder Jonny Steele to Miami FC. Both Stewart and Tissot are expected to make their Fury FC debut Sunday in Edmonton.
The game against FC Edmonton will be a special one for two other Fury FC members as Eddie Edward and Mallan Roberts will be facing their former club for the first time. Edward played 79 games for the Eddies over the last three and a half seasons while Roberts donned the blue and white jersey 46 times.
After Sunday, Fury FC will once again be on the road for their next game - July 23 in Jacksonville - before returning to TD Place on July 27 against the Carolina RailHawks.
