Ottawa Fury FC News Release

Ottawa, ON - Ottawa Fury FC head coach Paul Dalglish has added another local talent to his roster with the signing of Gatineau native Maxim Tissot, the club officially announced on Friday. The midfielder joins Fury FC after spending the last four seasons playing in MLS with the Montreal Impact.

The 24-year-old has featured in 44 contests for the Impact over the past four seasons and has also donned the red of the Canadian Men's National Team eight times since debuting for his country in 2015 including one appearance in the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

" Maxim fits in with the hard-working player profile that we are looking for," said Dalglish. "He's a quality player with a very good left foot that will serve our offence very well with his crossing and passing abilities. We've been tracking Maxim for a while now and to have another local player is hugely important for us and I'm looking forward to work with him."

After starting his youth career with FC Outaouais AAA, Tissot made the move to Montreal to develop with the Impact Academy - winning the Canadian Soccer League Defender of the Year in 2012 - which ultimately led to his first professional contract with the Impact in February 2013.

Tissot made his debut with the club two months later against the Columbus Crew and scored his first professional goal in September of the same year netting the match-tying goal in the 87th minute of a 2-2 draw against the Chicago Fire.

A two time Canadian Championship winner, Tissot has also made four CONCACAF Champions league appearances.

Fury FC head on the road for the next two matches - July 17 in Edmonton and July 23 in Jacksonville - before returning to TD Place on July 27 against the Carolina RailHawks.
