OTTAWA, ON - Ottawa Fury FC proved that they could runs with the best of them over the two-leg Semi-Final series with the Vancouver Whitecaps, but despite 15 shots, Fury FC could not find a goal and the Vancouver Whitecaps claimed a 3-0 win to return to the Canadian Championship Final for the fourth time in five years with a 3-2 aggregate win.

The home side quickly set the tone in the game, as they were awarded a penalty kick in the third minute when Rafael Alves inadvertently brought Nicolas Mezquida down in the box before seeing Pedro Morales convert from the spot.

Ottawa produced several scoring opportunities in response to the opening goal as Haworth and Steele both came close forcing Paolo Tornaghi to make some key saves.

Vancouver doubled their lead in the 20th minute when Mezquida's header was well-placed at the back post to pull the series level on aggregate 2-2.

Tornaghi was forced to make his presence known in the first half with a clutch save on Marcel De Jong who was sprung free by Bryan Olivera as the Vancouver Whitecaps carried the 2-0 lead into halftime with the series tied on aggregate.

Ottawa would look sharp to start the second half, but the Whitecaps captain Octavio Rivero scored in the 52nd minute to give the defending Canadian Champions the 3-2 aggregate lead.

The match would go both a forth right up until the final whistle that saw both goalkeepers turn aside quality scoring chances. Despite a valiant push late, Fury FC would fall to Vancouver who will now face Toronto FC in the Amway Canadian Championship Final.

Fury FC will now return home to close out their NASL Spring Season at TD Place when they welcome Rayo OKC Saturday evening at 7 p.m.
