Ottawa Fury FC News Release

OTTAWA, ON - After collecting three straight draws to close out their three-game home stand, Fury FC are packed up for three straight away from home that will see the team travel over 8600 in less than two weeks. Ottawa will look to run their unbeaten streak to four games Wednesday night with the club's first-ever stop in Puerto Rico when they take on the NASL's newest franchise.

Despite fatigue could prove to be a factor with the the excessive amount of kilometers traveled and the flight time (nearly 17 hours), Gatineau-native Maxim Tissot - who scored his first goal in Fury FC colours last Friday - refuses to see that as an excuse and is confident that his team will perform well.

"Traveling that much is the reality of North American soccer," said Tissot. "The traveling part isn't easy when playing away games, but it will allow us to be together for a six-day road trip. We've been able to pick up points on the road before and we know we can do it again."

Ottawa will face an expansion side that is winless in their last seven games (0W-3D-4L), but despite head coach Paul Dalglish's delight in his side's recent form, he knows his team must be at their best on Wednesday night.

"We're really excited about the game tomorrow," said Dalglish. "It's a wonderful grass field which should suit our playing style. It's going to be a good game. They are a much better team than their record suggests so we will need to be at our best to beat them."

"Despite being short numbers the fact that we picked up points in our last three games against really strong opposition has really injected a lot of confidence in the squad and we're going into this game with a lot of confidence and excitement," added Dalglish.

Puerto Rico FC enter Wednesday's game coming off a 3-0 loss to Miami FC - their fourth loss in their last seven contests in which they've been outscored 12-4. After 12 games in the Fall season, the Puerto Rican side is sitting last in the NASL standings, with the worst defensive record, allowing 20 goals.

Following Wednesday's match, Fury FC will continue their three-game road trip Saturday evening when they visit the Carolina RailHawks. T ickets are available by clicking here, calling 613-232-6767 x1 or in person at the TD Place Box Office. The Fall Season schedule is available here.
