Ottawa Fury FC News Release
OTTAWA, ON - Ottawa Fury FC today announced the acquisition of 26 year-old forward Aly Alberto Hassan from the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, pending international transfer. As per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"Aly Hassan will be another strong option in our front line,"said Fury FC Head Coach Marc Dos Santos. "He's an experienced forward with a very good goals to games played ratio in the NASL and Fury FC will provide him with every opportunity to succeed and help our team win."
Hassan, a 6'3 striker, made his professional debut in the NASL on April 7, 2012 against FC Edmonton scoring 12 goals in four years with the club. He also spent time with Club Aurora (Bolivia) on loan from the Strikers in 2013 scoring twice in eight matches.
"This is a great organization and a great team with great coaches," said Aly Alberto Hassan. "I'm excited about coming in to help the team in the attack and score some goals. I think it's a great move for me. I love the atmosphere and the professionalism in Ottawa, and I'm looking forward to getting started."
Hassan scored a second-half equalizer against Fury FC in last year's Fall Season finale to ensure the Strikers reached the NASL post-season. He will be reunited with former Strikers' teammates Rafael Alves and Paulo Junior in the Nation's Capital.
Due to the international transfer window, Hassan will not be eligible to play for Fury FC until after July 8.
Ottawa Fury FC kick-off the NASL Fall Season at TD Place July 5 against Jacksonville Armada FC. Tickets to this match and all Fall Season matches are available at OttawaFuryFC.com.
