Ottawa Fury FC News Release

OTTAWA, ON - As Fury FC continue week three of training camp in the sunshine and warmth of Casa Grande, Arizona, head coach and general manager Paul Dalglish made two major additions to his squad signing Canadian Men's National Team player Marcel de Jong (de-yung) and Brazilian forward Pablo Dyego (dee-eh-go) who joins the club on a season-long loan from Fluminense - both pending ITC.

"These are two crucial additions to our squad," said Dalglish. "Marcel brings experience and versatility to our squad while Pablo provides us with more pace and another weapon in our attack."

De Jong, 29, is a left-sided player who can play as a fullback or as a midfielder. Fans will best know de Jong from the Canadian Men's National team where he has been capped on 42 occasions and continues to help their pursuit to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup alongside now Fury FC teammate Julian de Guzman.

A dual citizen of Canada and the Netherlands, de Jong developed in the PSV Eindhoven youth academy for eight years before turning pro in 2005 with Dutch side Helmond Sport and later moved to Roda JC. After moving to Germany to join FC Augsburg in 2010, de Jong helped them win promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time in club history. After five seasons in Germany, the Newmarket, Ontario native moved back across the Atlantic to join MLS side Sporting KC for the 2015 campaign.

Dyego, 21, joins Fury FC on a one-year-loan from the Brazilian side Fluminense. The speedy-winger is a youth product of Fluminense academy and made his professional debut in 2013 with the reserve team.

The native of Rio de Janeiro has enjoyed loan spells with Swedish club Djurgårdens IF and Legia Warsaw in Poland.

With the addition of de Jong and Dyego, Paul Dalglish's side now consists of 22 players:

Goalkeepers (3): Marcel DeBellis, Romuald Peiser, Andrew MacRae

Defenders (7): Rafael Alves, Rich Balchan, Onua Thomas Obasi, Brandon Poltronieri, Kyle Porter, Fernando Timbo, Kyle Venter,

Midfielders (7): James Bailey, Julian de Guzman, Marcel de Jong, Mauro Eustaquio, Mozzi Gyorio, Lance Rozeboom, Jonny Steele

Forwards (5): Gerardo Bruna, Dennis Chin, Pablo Dyego, Carl Haworth, Paulo Junior
