Fury FC Acquire Young Canadian Clement Bayiha

OTTAWA - Ottawa Fury FC have announced the acquisition of the young Canadian talent Clement Bayiha (Clay-Mawn Ba-Ee-Yah) from the Montreal Impact Academy. This is the 19 year-old's first professional contract. Bayiha will remain with the Montreal Impact for a short-term loan.

Born in Cameroon, Bayiha and his family moved to France when he was five, before establishing themselves in Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, when he was 11 years old. Bayiha joined the Montreal Impact Academy in 2016 after playing with AS Blainville of the Première ligue de soccer du Québec.

So far this season with the Academy U-19 team, he has played 24 matches tallying nine goals and helping his team reach the first rank in the North East division, fourth overall, in the regular season of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy.

The 5-foot-8 defender has also made his international debut in 2018, most recently representing Canada with the U-21 team led by John Herdman at the renowned Festival International Espoirs Provence in Toulon, France.

Ottawa Fury FC visit Toronto FC at BMO Field on Wednesday night in the return leg of the Canadian Championship semi-final, before facing Louisville City at TD Place on Saturday (KO 2 p.m.).
