June 10, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Strong Island Sound News Release

Long Island, NY. On Friday, June 8, your very own Shayken Bayke, the mascot for the ABA Strong Island Sound, went to Boot Camp, in the form of Captree Elementary School annual Field Day. Fans young and old showed their appreciation for the mascot on a beautiful sunny day.

Each year there is a theme for Field Day. And the luck of a chicken had the 2007 version imitating an actual Boot Camp, with fatigues and all. The early session had the Kindergarter, 1st and 2nd grades. Later in the afternoon, the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders had their turn.

Of course, Shayken Bayke performed "The Chicken Dance" for both groups, who showed him how it goes. A great time was had by all. And Shayken Bayke was a big part of it.

On Sunday, June 10th, number 00 was back at it again for the closing ceremonies of the Long Island 2-Day Walk to Fight Breast Cancer at Smith Point County Park. For more information, visit www.strongislandsound.com or www.abalive.com.
