Frost Heaves tryout reminder

Cornwall, VT. The ABA Vermont Frost Heaves want to remind you that the team's inaugural open tryout camp will be held over the weekend of June 30, July 1 and July 2. Space permitting, the public is welcome to watch the camp which will begin on Friday, June 30th at 3 p.m. with sign-ins and measurements. The Vermont Frost Heaves have received nationwide interest because of features posted in Sports Illustrated.

"The Frost Heaves are committed to giving Vermont-connected basketball players an honest look," said team president and G.M. Alexander, who is writing about the birth and life of the Frost Heaves for Sports Illustrated and si.com and will file dispatches from the tryout camp. "To offer an in-state rate is the lest we can do to encourage locals to show us what they've got and Coach Voigt and I hope that as many as possible take advantage."

Ballplayers may go to vermontfrostheaves.com/camps/tryout to access the application and waiver forms. The rate is $100. for Vermonters; $125 for non-Vermonters, both forms must be filled out, signed and returned to the Frost Heaves by June 22nd, along with a cashier's check or certified check for the applicable fee. A surcharge of $50 will apply to any player who registers after June 22 or at the door. Applicants must be at least 18 years old on June 30, 2006 to participate.
