Frost Heaves Take Down Buffalo

Burlington, VT - The Vermont Frost Heaves came out running and never stopped as they defeated the Buffalo Stampede 126 - 90 this afternoon in Burlington.

Vermont bounced back nicely after their first ever defeat in Memorial Auditorium the night before against the Lawton/Fort Sill Cavalry. Vermont quickly trailed 7 - 5 to start the game but proceeded to play tough defense which led to fast break points and they quickly gained a 22 - 7 advantage.

The quarter ended with Vermont holding a 36 - 22 lead and the half ended with Vermont holding a 68 - 33 lead. Vermont outscored the Stampede in all 4 quarters and had 7 players in double figures. Vermont was led in scoring by Aaron Cook with 22 points 6 assists and 4 steals. Jared Carter added 18 points and Marshall Brown chipped in with 17. Vermont out rebounded Buffalo 63 - 51.

Buffalo was led in scoring by Kevin Ross with 22 points and Corey Herring with 20. Vermont's record goes to 5 - 7 on the season and they take on the Quebec Kebs in Quebec City next Friday night. Their next home game is Tuesday March 16, in Barre when the Millrats come back to town.
