
Frost Heaves Set Schedule, Open Camp Monday

Vermont Frost Heaves News Release
South Burlington, Vt.-With an ABA title and several returning players in tow, the Vermont Frost Heaves embark on their second season with the opening of training camp on Monday, October 15, at the Sports & Fitness Edge in Essex.
In addition, the team has released its 36-game schedule for 2007-08. It includes trips to the metro New York area to play the powerful Strong Island Sound and relocated Jersey Express; a series of border encounters with the Manchester (N.H.) Millrats; renewal of last year's rivalries with the Montreal Royal and Quebec City Kebekwa; and two trips to Halifax to play the expansion Rainmen in the Metro Centre.
Members of the media are welcome to interview players, coaches and staff on Monday during the half hour before the first 3:30 p.m. team practice. The Edge is located at 4 Gauthier Drive in Essex, off Susie Wilson Road.
The Sports & Fitness Edge has been a Proud Partner of the Frost Heaves since the team's founding in 2006, providing practice facilities and athletic training and physical therapy services. In addition, for 2007-08, the Vermont State Employees Credit Union and Vermont Army National Guard have signed on as Official Team Sponsors of the Frost Heaves.
Throughout training camp and the regular season, the press is invited to drop by the Edge in Essex for 30 minutes of pre-practice interview and photo opportunities. Practice generally begins at 3:30 p.m., but please confirm with director of operations Mike Healey that there has been no change in the schedule. - Oct. 18, 2 p.m., River Valley Club, Lebanon, N.H.-Press conference to promote preseason game vs. Manchester (N.H.) Millrats
- Oct. 20, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Oct. 21, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.-Frost Heaves booth at All Sports Expo at Champlain Valley Exposition
- Oct. 27, 4 p.m., Hartford High School, White River Jct., Vt.-Preseason game vs. Manchester (N.H.) Millrats
- Nov. 3, 1 p.m., Barre Municipal Auditorium-Frost Heaves Fan Fest
- Nov. 4, 1 p.m., Burlington Memorial Auditorium-Frost Heaves Fan Fest
There will be media opportunities at each of the above events.
Vermont opens its season on Nov. 9 at Montreal. Once again, the Frost Heaves will split their 18 home games evenly between Barre and Burlington, with their Barre opener scheduled for Thursday night, Nov. 15, and Burlington debut set for Sunday afternoon, Nov. 18.
