Frost Heaves remain unbeaten with fourth straight

BURLINGTON, VT-The Vermont Frost Heaves seem to be picking up steam as the season progresses with their 130-84 victory over Halifax on Sunday.

Issa Konare put up huge numbers for the Frost Heaves. scoring 10 of Vermont's first 13 points and ending with a total of 32, 17 of them in the third quarter. Konare hit five 3-pointers and added 12 boards and 4 steals in the win. Dokun Akingbade contributed 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Dwayne Lee was right behind him with 17 points, 6 steals and 8 assists.

Vermont jumped out to an early lead, scoring 10 points before the Rainmen finally got on the board. The Frost Heaves increased their lead in the third quarter, going up by 42 points, as Konare hit three straight treys. Halifax would not come any closer as Vermont's lead crested at 50 points.

Brian Silverhorn led the Rainmen with 15 points. He was followed closely by Devino Williams and Hardy Riley, who each chipped in 13. Riley also had 10 assists.

The Frost Heaves (4-0) will face the Corning Bulldogs on Nov. 25 in Corning. Tip is at 3:00 pm. Vermont's next home game will take place on Nov. 29 in Barre, when the Westchester Phantoms invade the Aud for a 7:05 p.m. tip.
