"The Frost Heaves were gracious enough to allow me to speak with other teams through out the summer, but in the end, there was no other place that I wanted to be than in Vermont. I am excited to guide the team during our inaugural season in the PBL."said Voigt, 32.
"You wouldn't necessarily know it by looking from afar, but Will does much more than train and coach," said Frost Heaves founder Alexander Wolff. "He also scouts and recruits the guys who play for us-and judging from where our former players have wound up, he's doing a superb job of helping them get to the next level."
Members of Vermont's 2006-07 champions went on to play in Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Germany, Portugal and Mexico in 2007-08, as well as in the Continental Basketball Association. Before joining the Frost Heaves he spent three seasons as coach of the Ulriken Eagles of Norway's top division.
The ABA honored Healey, a Williston resident, as one of its executives of the year in 2007. Salerno doubled as color commentator on radio broadcasts of the Frost Heaves' first two championship seasons.
Vermont begins PBL play in December, with a schedule that will feature such former ABA rivals as Halifax, Manchester, Maryland, Quebec and Rochester,
The next big dates on the Frost Heaves' calendar are in September, when current season-ticket holders will have an exclusive window to reclaim their seats. A mailing will go out early in September.
