Frontenacs Sign Tanner Nettleton to OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement

Kingston, ON - The Kingston Frontenacs and General Manager Kory Cooper are happy to announce that defenceman Tanner Nettleton has signed his OHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the club.

Nettleton was selected by the Frontenacs with the 79th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection. The Courtice, ON native began the 2025-26 season with the Oakville Blades of the OJHL before ending the season with the BCHL's Surrey Eagles. Between the two teams, Nettleton posted 9 goals and 13 assists for 22 points in 47 games.

"Tanner has worked hard to earn himself his S.P.A," said Frontenacs General Manager Kory Cooper. "We've kept a close eye on him since we drafted him in 2024 and saw his progression. He's a left-shot defenceman that can generate offense from the backend, can transition the puck up the ice and provides additional depth to our blueline. We're happy to welcome Tanner and his family to the hockey club, and continue his development."

Nettleton played in all three preseason games for the Frontenacs, scoring a shorthanded game-winning goal on Saturday, September 12th against the Sudbury Wolves in Newmarket.

Nettleton and the Frontenacs open the 2026-27 OHL regular season on Thursday, September 17th at 7:05PM in Peterborough against the Petes before returning home on Sunday, September 20th for our Home Opener against the Ottawa 67's. The puck may drop at 3:05PM but the real fun starts at 12:00PM with our annual Home Opener Tailgate Party.
