December 1, 2008 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Motor City Metal Jackets News Release

(Wyandotte, Mich.) Jake Friedman (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) pounded home six points including the game-winning goal against the Bandits in Saturday's 5-3 win.

Offensive: Jake started his scoring onslaught on Wednesday with an assist versus Team USA in a 7-2 loss. Things would settle down on Friday as Alpena escaped with a 1-0 win setting the table for Saturday's premier night.

With the Machine trailing 3-1 late in the third, Friedman took matters onto his own stick and buried a goal pulling the team within one at 3-2. Now with the game tied, Nick Taurnece flung a shot that Friedman deflected out in front for an unbelievable goal that sent Motor City ahead for good at 4-3.

In the weekend finale against Mahoning Valley the Machine fell behind early but rallied back with Jake assisting on the game-tying goal by Trevor John in the second. Friedman would then dish another and score one of his own finishing the night with a goal and two assists as the Machine fell 4-3 in OT.

"Jake really stepped up huge this weekend as he's worked hard all season and it's starting to pay off," comments head coach Sean Clark.

On the season Friedman has skated in 24 games collecting 16 points (5G, 11A) while maintaining +/- 4.
