Crossfire Sounders Women get Season Back on Right Track

Tafara Pulse tallied two goals and an assist in back to back victories over the San Diego Sunwave.

The Seattle Crossfire Sounders Women posted back to back victories over the otherwise undefeated San Diego Sunwave to get their Western Conference title hopes back on the right track after a disappointing road trip to Colorado.

Midfielder Tafara Pulse figured into all three goals Seattle scored against San Diego, recording two goals and an assist. Nicole Martinez, Kelli Smith and Kelli Cronkite shut down the Sunwave attack and helped Carly Smolek record back to back clean sheets between the pipes.

First year Sounders Kate Deines and Courtney Wetzel figured heavily in the wins. Deines was unbeatable in the air and Wetzel worked with Smith to shut down the left side of San Diego's attack.

The Crossfire Sounders can go top of the table Friday night when they face the Ft. Collins Force at Starfire Sports Entertainment Complex. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for kids. Kick-off is at 7pm.
