March 11, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Fresno Legends News Release
Fresno, CA. The new expansion ABA Fresno Legends visited San Francisco on Sunday to meet the San Francisco Rumble as the Rumble prepared for the mini-playoffs this week to determine another west entry into the ABA Final 8 in Quebec March 27-30. "We won despite losing," stated owner/player Dominick Young. "We showed that we could put together a competitive team against a very good ABA team and helped to establish pro careers for several of our players. In particular, NBA bound Javance Coleman, the ex-Fresno State Dog shot 5 from 9 from the field for 12 points, 12 assists and had six steals. And surprisingly 40 year old ex Fresno State Jervis Cole had a Legends team high 29 points, 12 rebounds, 4 steals and 4 blocks. He's in shape and the 2008 season will be an eye opening one for the people of Fresno. We appreciate the ABA allowing us to play this game and to get the red, white and blue ball rolling." Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
