Fresno Rebels Schedule Press Conference

Fresno, CA. The ABA Fresno Rebels professional basketball team set to begin play in December 2009 have scheduled a Press Conference for Wednesday, September 17th at 12noon at the Holiday Inn Express, 7115 N. Howard in Fresno, CA 93720. Coaches and players who will be present include: Jerry "Shark" Tarkanian (Coaching All-Star Exhibition Game), Dominick Young (co-owner/player), Diego Redd (President/Owner Rebel Entertainment), Shannon Swills (player), JaVance Coleman (player), Tyrone Jackson (player), John Lowe (coach), Carl Ray Harris (Asst. Coach), Cody Castleman (General Manager). The press conference is being sponsored by Yellow Dog Designs and Graphics.

In other news, the Rebels are proud to announce a merger with Diego Redd and Rebel Entertainment which is why the team name was changed from the Legends to the Rebels. Concurrently, Coach Tarkanian has offered to assist and to make cameo coaching appearances.

According to co-owner Dominick Young, "This is a great opportunity for the city of Fresno, players and the ABA. The team will consist of all local talent including former high school players, junior college players and ex-Fresno State players. The Rebels have received commitments from Terrance Roberson, Jervis Cole, Javance Coleman, Tremain Fowlkes, Rassann Smith, Demitrius Porter, Kendrick Brooks, Tyron Jackson (Carl Ray Harris will coach), Dexter Young (Bullard High-Porterville College), Shannon Swills, Hector Hernandez, and many more."

The Rebels hope to provide lots of fun, excitement, entertainment and affordable basketball. The team will have its second exhibition game on Sat, Nov 1 at 6pm at Roosevelt High School in Fresno. This will be an intersquad All Star game featuring ex-FSU players and coached by Jerry Tarkanian. "This is a Meet the Rebels" game. Proceeds will benefit Roosevelt High athletics, and non-profit Children's smiles. Exciting basketball is back in Fresno.
