The first-place Suns are giving away Electric T-shirts tonight!
No, not "electric" T-shirts, but "Electric" T-shirts! As in the team that played at Wahconah Park in the 1940's, the franchise that featured future American League MVP and big-league Executive of the Year Al Rosen!
The "Wahconah Turns 100" T-shirt Giveaway is all part of our continued celebration of Wahconah Park's 100th anniversary season. The first 500 fans tonight will get a free Pittsfield Electrics T-shirt, courtesy of Greylock Federal Credit Union and Greylock Insurance. The game starts at 6:30 PM, but the gates open at 5:45 PM, so make sure you get here early to grab a free T-shirt!
We conclude the week on Saturday with Craft Beer Night, presented by MCLA. Celebrate local artisanal suds and enjoy the Suns battling the Bristol Blues for a 6:00 PM start.
Of course, let's not forget that next Tuesday, July 16, the league's top players--not to mention major league scouts--descend on Wahconah Park for the FCBL All-Star Game. The day begins with an open workout in front of big-league scouts. The gates open with entertainment at the front gate at 5:00 PM and an on-field performance at 6:00 PM. The pregame highlight is, of course, the Home Run Derby prior to a 7:00 scheduled first pitch. After the game, we'll light up the night sky with a fireworks show worthy of an All-Star Game.
