July 6, 2010 - Golden Baseball League (GBL)
Tucson Toros News Release
Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Toros will be represented by four players during the International All-Star Game that will take place at Hi Corbett Field on Wednesday, July 14th at 7:00 p.m. Tucson's honorees for the festivities will be Shortstop Ryan Priddy, Outfielder Lino Garcia and Right-handed Pitchers Emiliano Fruto and Andrew Snowdon as the Golden Baseball League All-Stars take on the Northern League squad.
Priddy has excelled again with Tucson in 2010, playing stellar defense at shortstop while leading the Toros in home runs (6), runs scored (31) and slugging percentage (.515) heading into tonight's action. Garcia's .367 batting average leads the Toros and ranks second in the entire GBL.
Fruto is tied fourth in the GBL with 6 saves and ranks 7th in the league with 38 strikeouts as a reliever. Snowdon has posted a 2.75 ERA in his first professional season after being drafted this past off-season out of the Arizona Winter League.
Fruto and Garcia will both be participating in their second straight GBL All-Star Game after both representing the Southern Division in 2009's game in St. George.
