National Hockey League Vice President of Hockey & Business Development Brendan Shanahan has announced that four members of the Saint John Sea Dogs have been invited to take part in this summer's NHL Research, Development and Orientation Camp.

Only 35-40 players eligible for the 2011 NHL Entry Draft have been asked to participate in this unique camp (Aug. 18 - 19 in Toronto, ON), at which an elite group of professional prospects will engage in several on-ice exercises which will showcase potential rule changes and strategic innovations developed by the National Hockey League and its 30 member clubs.

"The idea is just to create a camp that gives us information about the game -- not because we think the game is broken and needs fixing, but to allow our hockey people to think and act progressively," Shanahan said on May 28 in Chicago. "We'll test potential new ideas. Some may never see the light of day, but it's just putting into play some game-situation rules, some game-situation equipment, and some potential innovation into the game of hockey."

Saint John forwards Zack Phillips, Jonathan Huberdeau, and Tomas Jurco have been asked to take part in the camp, as has defenseman Nathan Beaulieu.

Season tickets to the Sea Dogs' 2010-11 campaign are now available for purchase. Information on all ticketing options can be obtained by calling the team office at (506) 657-DOGS (3647) or by visiting www.saintjohnseadogs.com.
