Austin Bruins News Release
AUSTIN, Minn. - The Bruins will be sending four players to this season's NAHL Top Prospect Tournament later this month. Lane Krenzen, Dante Sheriff, Andy Willis, and Dante Zapata will all represent the black-and-gold in the league's annual tournament, with Dylan Davies chosen to compete on one of the Selects teams.
The contest allows non-committed players to showcase their skills in an all-star style setting. Rosters will be comprised of the top talent in each division playing in a round-robin tournament.
Krenzen, Zapata, and Willis had the honor of representing the Bruins in last season's Top Prospects tournament and will get the chance to do so again this season. For Sheriff, the Bruins leading points getter and the league's ninth-leading scorer, this will be his first appearance in the Top Prospects game.
Along with the four divisional Top Prospects teams, rosters for the pair of Selects Teams were also announced with Bruins defenseman Dylan Davies getting a selection. The Traverse City, MI, native announced his commitment to RPI earlier this season and continues his strong rookie campaign in the NAHL.
Along with the five players heading to Attleboro, MA, the Bruins are also sending bench-boss Steve Howard who was selected to be the Central Division's Assistant Coach for the Top Prospects Tournament.
The games will be held which will be held from February 18-19, 2019 at the New England Sports Village in Attleboro. Stay tuned to all the Bruins social media and catch the games on HockeyTV to keep up with the Bruins representatives.
Before the quintuplet can pack their bags for the east coast, they have a pair of games with the Midwest Division-leading Minnesota Magicians this weekend. Starting out on the road, the Bruins will return home on Saturday, February 2 for their first home game since January 12. Saturday's game is the team's ninth-annual Paint the Rink Pink game which will be filled with events, auctions, games, and other entertainment for fans in an effort to raise money for cancer research at the Hormel Institute. Tickets for Saturday's Paint the Rink Pink game are on sale now at all the Bruins vendors including Games People Play, Hy-Vee, Holiday Inn, and Jim's Marketplace. Doors open an extra 30 minutes at 5:30, so fans can enjoy a longer happy-hour at Riverside Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05.
