
Forward Matt Puempel Joins B-Sens

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that forward Matt Puempel has been reassigned by the club's National Hockey League affiliate Ottawa Senators from the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League to Binghamton.
Puempel, 20, was Ottawa's third first-round pick (24th overall) in the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft. A native of Windsor, Ont., he recently concluded his fourth full season in the OHL when his Kitchener Rangers were defeated four games to one by the London Knights in a Western Conference Semifinal playoff series that ended April 12.
Puempel appeared in 51 games with the Rangers this season scoring a career-high 35 goals and adding 12 assists for 47 points. In 195 career OHL games played with the Peterborough Petes and Kitchener, he has recorded 119 goals, 94 assists and 166 penalty minutes. He also has four goals and five assists in 14 playoff contests.
The 6-0, 208-pound forward appeared in nine games for the B-Sens during the 2011-12 season, scoring his first professional goal in Binghamton's season finale versus the Norfolk Admirals.
The B-Sens are next in action Friday against the Manchester Monarchs in a 7:05 p.m. face-off. Great seats are still available by calling 607-722-SENS (7367).
