Forward Billy Ryan Returns from Hershey

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals, announced today that forward Billy Ryan has returned to the team from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Ryan, 26, appeared in four games with the Bears scoring one goal. The Milton, Massachusetts, native skated in 12 games with the Stingrays this season scoring nine goals and three assists for 12 points. Ryan joined the Stingrays after dressing in three contests with the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL) recording one assist. A third-round draft pick (80th overall) by the New York Rangers in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Ryan saw ECHL action with the Wheeling Nailers during the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons totaling 34 points (15g, 19a) in 34 games. Before turning pro, the 6-foot-1, 175-pound forward attended the University of Maine for four seasons.

The Stingrays face the Kalamazoo Wings in Game One of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Friday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Wings Stadium. Listen to tall the action live at StingraysHockey.com .
