Fort Worth Tycoons announce head coach

Ft. Worth, TX. Charles Key, CEO of the ABA's Fort Worth Tycoons today announced its new head coach, Steve Tucker, for the expansion team beginning play in November. According to Key, "Intensity, desire, drive and an unending love for the game of basketball describes Steve. He was the best candidate for our team because he has a lot of experience and success."

Coach Tucker has been named "Coach of the Year" six times during his career, along with having won championships on the professional, international and collegiate levels. He was also one of the youngest head coaches at the age of 22 when he was named head coach at Phillips College. At the age of 28,he became one of the youngest head coaches on the NCAA Division 1 level when named head coach of Sam Houston University. Coach Tucker has had 14 of his former players move onto the NBA.

Tucker added, "I intend to continue my "tradition of excellence" with the Fort Worth Tycoons - there's a tremendous amount of talent available - and we will be strong."

Key closed with, "There were many excellent candidates that applied, but one of the reasons Coach Tucker was selected amongst others was his candor about his successes as well as his failures (few). And I feel that it goes to be a good business person (or coach) you have your fair share of both to be completely rounded out. I'm also extremely confident that Coach Tucker will help us achieve our goals of winning both on and off the court."
