
Fort Wayne's Sean Venedam named UHL Best Defensive Forward

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Friday that Fort Wayne Komets center Sean Venedam has been named the 2004-05 UHL Best Defensive Forward as selected by the league head coaches, general managers, and members of the media.
The 28-year-old native of Valley East, Ontario completed the regular season with 85 points (39g, 46a), which ranked 12th in the league. He had a plus-35 rating in 78 games, which ranked 4th in the UHL. His seven game-winning goals tied for the second most in the UHL.
Venedam was selected to Team Mountain Dew in the 2005 Pepsi UHL All-Star Classic in January. He also was named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Month for December 2004. It is the third consecutive season that a member of the Fort Wayne Komets was selected as the UHL Best Defensive Forward (Colin Chaulk 2002-03, 2003-04).
