FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Fort Wayne TinCaps lost Thursday night's contest 7-2 at Parkview Field against the Great Lakes Loons (Dodgers affiliate).
Fort Wayne (49-65, 22-26) got their first run of the evening in the fifth inning when right fielder Conner Westenburg came around to score on an error. Second baseman Bradley Frye drove in the other run in the eighth frame on an RBI double, his fourth High-A extra-base-hit in 12 games.
Great Lakes (64-50, 28-22) scored three runs in the first two innings en route to their first win of the series. Shortstop Email Morales (MLB No. 24/Dodgers No. 4 prospect) led the charge once again at the dish for the Loons. Morales launched a two-run homer in the first inning, his second round-tripper in as many contests. Third baseman Mairo Martinus put together a two-hit performance in the victory, including his third home run of the week. Martinus clobbered a grand slam in the sixth inning, the second in as many showings for the Loons. The 21-year-old is batting .321 in 15 games with Great Lakes this season since being promoted from Single-A Ontario on August 4.
