FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The Manzanas Luchadoras de Fort Wayne, the new alternate identity of the TinCaps for Hispanic Heritage Weekend, shut out South Bend, 1-0, on Saturday night to earn a split of their doubleheader in front of a sell-out crowd of 8,016 fans. It was the eighth sell-out of the season at Parkview Field, and second in three nights.

In the nightcap, left-handed starter Jackson Wolf threw six scoreless innings with four strikeouts, scattering two singles and three walks.

Fort Wayne (16-19, 43-58) scored the game's only run with two outs in the third of the seven-inning game. Shortstop Jarryd Dale had walked and stolen second base. First baseman Carlos Luis, last week's California League Player of the Week, who was then promoted from Single-A Lake Elsinore, fisted an opposite-field single to left field on the seventh pitch of his at-bat with the count at 2-2, scoring Dale.

Seth Mayberry followed Wolf to earn his second save of the season.

Earlier, South Bend (23-12, 57-44) won the first game, 6-3.

After the visitors took a 3-0 lead, Fort Wayne equalized in the fourth with a pair of bases-loaded walks and an RBI groundout. But South Bend scored thrice in the next half inning. Joshua Mears had two hits, including a double, in the game for the home team.
