
Former Sundogs and Phoenix Coyotes Prospects to Skate Against Los Angeles Kings Rookies

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The 2008 Central Hockey League Ray Miron President's Cup Champion Arizona Sundogs, double-A affiliate of the National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes, will have two former players appearing in two rookie games against Los Angeles Kings prospects on Tuesday, Sept. 16 and Wednesday, Sept. 17 at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale the Coyotes announced on Tuesday.
Defensemen David Schlemko and Sean Sullivan will join 20 other Coyotes prospects as they take on Kings rookies and prospects.
Schlemko appeared in 58 regular season games for the Sundogs in 2007-08, registering 39 points (10g/29a) and 24 penalty minutes (PIM) and finished with a plus-12 rating. His 39 points were tied for most among rookie defensemen in the CHL. In 14 playoff contests, the Edmonton, Alberta, native added three goals, five assists and six PIM and was plus-13. The 21-year-old d-man also appeared in the 2008 CHL All-Star Game, tallying an assist and helping his Southern Conference club to its first win in five years. Schlemko also appeared in one game for the American Hockey League's (AHL) San Antonio Rampage in 2007-08.
Sullivan, 24, appeared in 22 games for the Sundogs last season, tallying 25 points (9g/16a) and 19 PIM before being recalled to the Rampage (AHL) on Dec. 26 for the remainder of the 2007-08 campaign. In 34 games with the Rampage, the Braintree, Mass., native collected eight assists and 13 PIM.
Tuesday's game is slated for a 6:00pm start while Wednesday's game will begin at 2:00pm. Both games are open to the public.
Coyotes Managing Partner and Head Coach Wayne Gretzky will be behind the bench for a team that includes Kyle Turris, Brett MacLean and Hobey Baker Award-winner Kevin Porter. The club's two first round selections in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Mikkel Boedker and Viktor Tikhonov, will also be in the lineup.
