Former Outlaws Make NCAA Division III Frozen Four

Mason City (IA) Three former North Iowa Outlaws will be competing for a National Championship this weekend when the University of Wisconsin at Stout and Gustavus Adolphus College head into the NCAA Division III Frozen Four. It'll mark the first time that any Outlaws' alumni have reached the Frozen Four at either the Division I or Division III level.

Stout and Gustavus will face-off in the national semi-final on Friday in Lake Placid, NY with the winner taking on either Neumann or Hobart from the Northeast.

Stout features Matt Morin who played for the Outlaws from 2005-2008 and now in his first season with Stout, Morin has 10 goals and 17 assists in 30 games with the Blue Devils. Stout's roster also features former NAHL player Scott Motz who is the son of Outlaws' co-owner Craig Motz, and was a two-year member of the Minnesota Blizzard from 2004-2006.

Gustavus has two former Outlaws in Cody Mosbeck and Ross Ring-Jarvi. Mosbeck played with the Outlaws during the 2005-2006 season while Ring-Jarvi was the first ever Outlaws' player signed and was with the team though last season. Ring-Jarvi scored the game winner in Gustavus' 2-0 victory last Saturday at UW-Superior which earned the school the trip to New York.

For the season, Ring-Jarvi has 10 goals and 21 assists in 28 games while Mosbeck has 4 goals and 3 assists in 24 games.
