Sioux City Musketeers News Release

Sioux City, Iowa - The Sioux City Musketeers will host a very special guest on Friday night, November 8th for their annual Military night presented by Siouxland Surgery Center.

Former Musketeer player and US Navy SEAL, Bobby Gassoff, will be in attendance. He will be present for the National Anthem, and will drop a pre-game ceremonial puck just prior to the start of the Musketeers game against Lincoln at 7:05PM.

Gassoff, a defenseman, played for the Musketeers during the 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons. He scored 4 goals and had 10 assists over the course of two seasons in Sioux City. In 80 games played, he racked up 387 penalty minutes.

The future Navy SEAL would go on to play collegiate hockey at the University of Michigan, where he scored 2 goals and 5 assists for 7 points on the blue line for the Wolverines over four seasons (1997-98 through 2000-2001).

He spent the 2001-2002 season with the Peoria Rivermen of the ECHL. He also played three games with the AHL's Worcester Ice Cats during that same season.

He joined the Navy in 2003, and after passing the most difficult military selection process anywhere on Earth, he became a member of the elite Navy SEALs, where he has served tours in Iraq, Southwest Asia and other parts of the world during his time in service.
