Former Monarchs Edna Campbell and Bobby Jackson return to ARCO Arena

WHO: Bobby Jackson, Former Monarchs Guard Edna Campbell, Susan G. Komen Executive Director Donna Sanderson and breast cancer survivors

WHAT: For the ninth consecutive year, the Monarchs will adopt Breast Health Awareness as a community initiative and designate the June 24, Monarchs vs. Sun game as Monarchs "Breast Health Awareness Night." Information will be distributed about important breast health information to all fans in attendance. The game will also be marked by special breast cancer awareness t-shirts worn by the players and pink ribbons will be distributed to the first 5,000 fans.

Maloof Sports &Entertainment will host a pre-game reception for 100 survivors and their guests in the East Lounge of ARCO Arena beginning at 5:30pm on Friday, June 24. The pre-game reception will include an address from Bobby Jackson, Edna Campbell and Donna Sanderson. Bobby Jackson lost his mother to breast cancer just a few years ago and former Monarchs guard Edna Campbell was diagnosed and underwent treatments for breast cancer while a member of the team in 2002. Although Edna is currently playing for another team, she returns to ARCO because of the deep bond she shares with this organization, the City and the fans who supported her through the greatest challenge of her life. Immediately following the reception will be media availability with Jackson, Campbell and Sanderson. The halftime ceremony will include survivor recognitions on-court, a special video production and check presentation. Jackson, Campbell and Sanderson will also be participating in the halftime ceremony.
