Rockford Thunder News Release
ROCKFORD - The Rockford Thunder has signed free agent infielder Shanna Diller, team General Manager Aaron M. Moore announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.
Diller, who is originally from Bloomington, Ill. played her college ball at the University of Illinois for head coach Terri Sullivan. While in Champagne, Diller put her name in the school record books, as she finished her career with the Illini ranked No. 2 in runs scored (163), home runs (37) and RBIs (158). She also finished her career fourth in batting average at .314.
"I am very thankful to have the opportunity to continue my career with a great organization," said Diller. "It's extremely exciting to be able play just a couple of hours from my hometown."
"Shanna is a player we've had our eye on since the fall college season," said Moore. "She provides us with another solid bat and is versatile in that she can play both of the corner infield positions. We look for her to contribute to the team right away this season."
