Sioux Falls Stampede News Release
Former Sioux Falls Stampede defenseman Chris Huxley has been named captain of the Harvard Crimson for the 2010-11 season. He adds to a growing trend of former Stampede players who have been named captain or assistant captain of their collegiate team. This past season, nine former players were captains at the collegiate level.
As a junior this past season, Huxley was Harvard's top scoring defenseman, tallying 13 points (2g, 11a) while appearing in all 32 games. As a sophomore, Huxley was just one of five players to appear in all 31 games and was part of one of the top powerplay units in the ECAC.
Huxley was a member of the Stampede's Clark Cup championship team in 2007, recording 17 points (3g, 14a) and a plus-5 rating in 56 games. He was a big part of the Stampede defense that ranked third in the league in goals-against that season and went on to record five points in eight playoff games for the Herd.
The Stampede are currently preparing for the USHL Draft which will take place on Wednesday, May 19th.
