Former FM Jets Star Playing for Finland at WJC

Fargo (ND) Former Fargo-Moorhead Jets forward Kai Kantola is currently playing for Team Finland at the 2007 World Juniors Hockey Championships in Sweden, and will be on the roster when Finland faces Team USA at 12:30pm (CST) in the quarterfinal round.

Originally born in Canada, and now residing in Raleigh, NC, Kantola's parents still have Finnish citizenship making his eligible for the team. Prior to joining the FM Jets, Kantola spent the 2003-2004 season playing junior hockey in Finland.

Kantola played two seasons with the FM Jets from 2004-2006, scoring 71 points (29 goals) during his career. He is currently a freshman at Division I Bowling Green University.

Kantola became the first-ever FM Jets' player to be listed by NHL Central Scouting last season, and also participated with Finland at the 2006 Four Nations Tournament.

The FM Jets Junior A Hockey Club is in its fourth season as members of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is the nation's largest Junior A hockey league and is now in its 31st year of operation. For more information, visit fmjets.com or call (701) 235-2354.
