Former Falcon James Paxton Tosses No-Hitter in Toronto
May 8, 2018 - West Coast League (WCL)
Kelowna Falcons News Release
James Paxton becomes the first former Kelowna Falcon to throw a no-hitter in the Major Leagues after dominating the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night in a 5-0 victory.
Paxton becomes just the second Canadian in history to throw a no-hitter in the Majors and the fifth Seattle Mariners pitcher. The first Canadian was Dick Fowler in 1945 for the Philadelphia A's.
The victory was also Paxton's first complete game since becoming a pro. He used 99 pitches and struck out seven on route to the milestone, getting former MVP Josh Donaldson to ground out to end the game.
The new crop of Falcons will hit the field on June 1st and will host the Bellingham Bells. Season tickets are available now by calling the Falcons headquarters at 250-763-4100.
