Former D-League MVP and Rookie of the Year to play in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY, September 15 - Former NBA Development League MVP Devin Brown has signed a contract with the Utah Jazz. Per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Brown spent last season with the San Antonio Spurs, playing in 67 games and averaging a career-high 7.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 18.5 minutes per game. He recorded NBA career highs in eight statistical categories during the 2004-05 season, including 24 points against the Washington Wizards on January 17 and six assists against the New Orleans Hornets on March 14.

Brown earned both D-League MVP and Rookie of the Year honors in 2003 after averaging 16.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 44 games for the Fayetteville Patriots.

The 6-5 guard out of Texas-San Antonio ('02) was not drafted out of college and has played in 135 career NBA games, averaging 5.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 14.5 minutes per game. In three NBA seasons he has spent time with the San Antonio Spurs and the Denver Nuggets.
